MissMalini's new bob cut by BBlunt's Adhuna Akhtar.
MissMalini’s new bob cut by BBlunt’s Adhuna Akhtar.

Here’s an exciting moment for MissMalini and me; the queen of the bob and hair magician, Adhuna Akhtar of

B

Blunt transformed Malini with a new fab makeover. Yup, MissMalini will now be sporting a beautifully stark graduated bob and sharp magenta red coloured bits in her hair!

So why am I getting so excited for Malini’s haircut? Because as a stylist, I have learnt that a fab wardrobe is only half the battle won. You could have the best outfit, but if your hair is boring, the whole look falls flat on its face (literally!) And honey, that’s the kinda sh*t we can’t handle. So #HellYeah to Adhuna for making magic happen and answering Malini’s #NeedToDoSomethingToMyHair call! Here’s how it all went down.

The appointment and consultation.

Adhuna called Malini in for the session and chatted with her to figure out if our girl was truly ready to take the leap. While discussing routines and details, Malini hinted that a colour job won’t be a bad thing at all. In fact, it would be a welcome enhancement. Adhuna jumped at the opportunity and brought out the colour chart! They quickly froze on a highlight that wouldn’t require stripping Malini’s hair of it’s original tone, but would still be a funky sexy magenta red. Oh hello Nowshad!)

Now back to the consultation…

The haircut begins…

With no time to waste, Malini quickly stepped on to the wizard’s cutting chair and the transformation began. After the sections were clipped and we were all a 100% sure to take the leap, Adhuna snipped the 1st chunk of hair and went for it saying, “ok, we’re doing this!” (Remember if your hair is thick and long enough (like Gigi’s was) you can donate it to a charity for cancer patients called Hair Aid!)

Colour-ME-Pretty time!

Post the cut, comes the colour. Adhuna mixed a yummy looking mix of magenta red that looked like icing! (Yup, I was hungry by then, we all were!) A quick colour application and Malini looked like a futuristic character with foil in her hair. Now to wait for the colour to cook; a 30 minute wait and we were eager to see the results.

After 30 minutes of waiting, Adhuna washed Malini’s hair and blow dried it into form. And there it was! The sharp tinge of red peeping through a graphic bob.
