I know, I know…in between booze induced parties, food fuelled family gatherings and this chilly winter weather – maintaining a regular workout routine can really be quite the task! Which is exactly why we thought we’d give you a little winter workout inspo, straight from your favourite B-town Celebrity Divas – so you can keep those fitness goals in check.

1) Deepika Padukone

Ok, so this sexy lady redefines the word HOT (cough *lovely* cough). But Deepika Padukone‘s to-die-for body didn’t come easy. She has always been an athletic person and has grown up playing some sort of sport. Though her hectic schedule no longer allows time for recreational activities like badminton, she sticks to her strict workout regimes and no they don’t include the typical gym stuff!

“I do a lot of freehand weights and four to five sets of stretching exercises with 10 to 20 reps, in between Pilates or stretching routines. I don’t particularly like running so I don’t do a lot of conventional gym exercises,” Deepika says. “I try and exercise as often as I can, but when I’m travelling or shooting, I tend to skip it for days on end.”

So its ok to skip every once in a while – just don’t make it a permanent skip!

2) Malaika Arora Khan

This sexy momma doesn’t get much time to go to a gym but she tries to train at least three times a week for an hour and a half to maintain her enviable curves. Malaika Arora Khan incorporates ample cardio into her workout regimes and also loves kick-boxing, aerobics and various forms of dance such as Jazz Ballet and Bharat Natyam.

So you see, you don’t need to stick to the typical – go ahead and experiment!

3) Jacqueline Fernandez

“A fit person is a happy person. It boils down to being in control of what I want for my body and mind,” says the beautiful Jacqueline Fernandez – and we couldn’t agree more! Ever since the trailers for Murder 2 were first released, it was Jacqueline’s va-va-voom body that made headlines. She attributes her bod to a combination of jogging and Capoeira (the Brazilian martial art that combines dance and music).

“Gym is just not my thing,” she says. Adding to that, she follows a diet rich in Omega-3 fatty acids such as salmon and nuts.

When it comes to getting fit – we say, mix it up (and don’t neglect your diet)!

4) Alia Bhatt

This young actress works out at least thrice a week in the gym, with immense focus on her cardio regime as well as weight training to keep herself toned and strong. Alia Bhatt alternates between altitude and weight training to keep her body strong. For those of you who didn’t know, as you climb higher, the air gets thinner. Each lungful of air at altitude gives you less oxygen so your body has to work harder to maintain the supply. Your body then works to enhance the oxygen transport thereby improving your physical performance drastically!

Ever tried altitude training? If not – find a gym at the top floor of a building or alternately, opt for a some fresh air on a mountain top or even on your terrace!

5) Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is one of those few enviable hotties blessed with an AH-mazing metabolism – so she can scoff down a couple of burgers and ice cream and still look like she does. But no one, I repeat ladies, NO ONE is blessed with fitness and tone au naturale (I’ve seriously yet to come across someone who is perfectly fit and doesn’t use exercise in their vocabulary). PC prefers resistance training over weight training and when her hectic schedule takes priority, she’ll plug in some tunes and go for a jog or spin classes wherever she is.

6) Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan doesn’t like to go to your typical, air-conditioned gym. She prefers cardio and hot yoga to keep fit. The diva practices Bikram yoga in a room with 40% humidity. Her yoga routine includes around 40 Surya Namaskaras, Bhujangasana to strengthen her back, Virabhadra for lean and strong legs and Naukasana for rock hard abs.

Not only is Bikram yoga great for weight loss, strength improvement and flexibility, but sweating it our every now and then does wonders to your skin (natural glow alert)!

7) Ileana D’Cruz

“I do a lot of pilates. It’s something that really works for me. Unfortunately, I cannot run since I have a really bad knee so I try and walk as much as possible, which is extremely good. People underestimate how good walking is. I walk for about forty minutes every night at Joggers Park. I do around ten rounds It feels fabulous.” as told to Team Miss Malini by Ileana D’Cruz at an event in Mumbai.

See, you don’t need to befriend the gym to get that sexy summer body, nor do you have to completely deprive yourself of all those end of year goodies – there are other ways….Hallelujah. You can even walk your way to your fitness goals – all you have to do is keep at it!

Go ahead and test out some of these ideas!
