Yes it’s the end of the year and along with making plans for your big 31st blowout, some of you are also thinking about the resolutions you want to make for the spanking new year. It’s a clean slate you guys, you can do anything – the opportunities are endless! Last year, my resolution was to learn how to speak French. It’s a bit far fetched, I agree. But this year, I’ve decided to keep it closer to home, do the things I know. As a fashion girl, you’ve got to admit, you try to cut corners some times. I don’t mean with the things you buy, I’m talking about the things you do, wear, say, eat and other such stuff. So, as a fashion girl, here’s a list of resolutions you could make – you don’t have to do ALL, but try to pick at least one. The world would be a better place 🙂
1. Contain The Rip
I’m talking about those distressed denims. Don’t get me wrong, I love them, they’re great when you want to add some instant grunge to your look. But how about containing that rip? Let’s bring out those needles and some thread and stitch up the excess, shall we?
2. Throw Out That Shunderwear
Confused? People think it’s alright to wear shorts that are as tiny as your underwear (shunderwear). You might have the best butt in the world, but is it reaaalllyyy necessary? Really? Short shorts are great, but try a pair that your vajayjay doesn’t look like it’s eating, please?
3. Socks That Work & Some That Don’t
They work when you’re wearing them under your sneakers, sneaker-wedges, bowling shoes, skis, boots and that’s pretty much it. In fact, I urge you to wear some under your sneakers. If you don’t want them to show, wear those hidden ones you get these days. The one time they don’t work is when you wear them with sandals. I know you’re trying to be all hipster and you think someone is going to ask to take your picture but let’s get real, this is India and The Sartorialist doesn’t cover it.
4. No Sweat
Admit it, we’ve all done this. Raise your hand if you walked in to work in your sweatpants. I’m guilty of the crime myself and in 2015, I’m going to put an end to this madness!
5. Age Appropriate Accessories
If you’re 25 and you’re still wearing plastic beads and unicorns as jewellery, please, by all means, stop! Now is the time for elegant bangles, ornate rings and all round classy jewels. It wouldn’t hurt if you start saving up for the real stuff either.
6. Black Isn’t Always The Answer
Black isn’t shouldn’t always be the answer. I know it’s the easiest thing to throw on, but guys, lets resolve to make more of an effort? As a girl who wears black 8/10 times, this is on top of my list. Just say NO!
7. No Nonsense Nails
Girls, chipped nails are a complete no-no. This shouldn’t even be an option. The minute they chip, you take them off. It’s just how the world should work.
8. No Pain
… No gain. So remember, those shoes might just hurt a bit sometimes or you’d just rather go in flats – But you’ve got to admit, your work gets done in high heels. Don’t deny it.
And you’re ready! If you’re strong enough you’ll do ALL 8 – I know I’m going to really try. After all, you want people to react like THIS, don’t you?
