Her hair is always in place. Her clothes are styled just right and she basically looks like perfection whenever you see her. It’s no wonder you fell in love with her. If you’re really lucky, she likes you too and suddenly… you’re dating a fashionista! Most people might brush it off, no biggie, right? But if you’ve been with her long enough, you know she’s a bit different from the rest. And by now, I’m sure you have a million questions. Now I could warn you about all the things you shouldn’t say to a fashion girl but let me tell you this, she’s one of the best kinds of people you can date – she’s smart, gracious, cultured and so damn stylish.
She’s a pro.
I’ll start with the obvious and tell you, a fashionista is exactly that: fashionable. If you’re ever taking her to drinks with your friends, a family gathering, you can be sure she’ll know exactly what to wear, show up and fit right in. Finding something appropriate for any occasion is a built-in feature and situations like this are entirely non-existent.
She makes the rules.
A fashionista can have a split personality when it comes to her clothes. One day she’s slightly goth and the next she’s all pink and pretty. While this might be slightly confusing, you should know that your girl deals with most of her emotions through her clothes; very unlike other girls who tend to deal with it through words, sometimes harsh ones… and sometimes with stones.
It’s not just about her.
While I was writing this, I asked a boy what he liked most about dating a fashionista and pat came the reply – “Well, it’s on-call styling help, and it’s free!“. She knows how to cuff your shirts just right, what matches with those linen trousers and exactly how many accessories are too many. Who needs a stylist when you have a fashionista?
No one drives a harder bargain.
Don’t underestimate her though, her knowledge goes beyond just looking good. While she might not know much about stocks, banking and numbers in general, she can sure as hell get you a great bargain. We know you’re trying to save those hard earned bucks, and she might spend some from time to time. But believe me when I tell you, she’ll get you the best deal.
She’s willing to share.
Sometimes she’ll talk about things that sound like gibberish to you, she’ll take names that sound like they belong on a different planet and very enthusiastically explain things that you can’t begin to comprehend. One thing is for sure, if you’re really interested, she’ll be more than happy to elaborate. A fashionista wants nothing more than for you to be a part of her world and it doesn’t matter how small the part is, she’ll just be happy about the fact that you’re there.
And boys, before you go complaining about how tall her heels are, just remember, the taller the heel, the more she’ll lean on you for support 🙂
