Tevar has done just about decent at the box office. It was expected that the film would take a 40%-50% opening; however, the actual results were somewhat lesser, and that remained a constant throughout the day. The weekend stayed at the same level as well, though thankfully there was no drop. As a result, around 24 crores* were collected at the box office. The film has taken a slower start than Arjun Kapoor‘s Gunday and Sonakshi Sinha‘s Action Jackson, which belonged to the same genre.

The film benefits from the fact that it is a solo release. However, the reviews have been mixed. While the common refrain is that the film is yet another South ‘masala’ remake (a phenomenon that has almost peaked now) it has also been praised for the grand canvas and scale that it boasts of. As for the collections, everything now boils down to how the film performs in the coming days, as there are a couple of movies releasing in every week to follow.

Meanwhile, PK continued to do well at the box office, with its collections in the 325-330 crore range already. The film still has some ammunition left and will continue to fire for some more time at least.
