I’m a self-proclaimed shoe-a-holic and you won’t ever catch me shying away from that very evident fact! Not only do I love my shoes that much, but I strongly believe that each pair of shoes I have, have a personality of their own. A unique personality that becomes the best of friends with the outfit I choose for it, and helps me transform as per the occasion! I mean, Cinderella is some serious proof that a pair of shoes can change your life!

So without further ado, here are 10 shoes of mine, with their very own personalities – straight from my very own shoe collection.

1) The chunky, clunky clubbing boots

You know that sturdy, high but super comfy pair of heels that gets you through a night of intense dancing and drinking without stumbling around and worrying about how and where you will place your next step? Yea – these babies do exactly that. They’re also jet black (so they go with just about all outfits) and have both buckles, laces and zips on either side! Need I say more? My IDEAL companions on many boozy nights of breaking it down on the D-floor.

2) The wedged SNEAK-ers

This sneaky pair is a must have! Not only can these be worn on a daily basis, but they also have a hidden wedge which gives you just the right amount of lift. Casual, comfy and chic – all in one pair of shoes! Nude colours are generally the way to go, so you can pair your sneaker wedges with just about any casual outfit, whether that be a day dress or jeans and a tee. Though if you’re more of a colour magnet – by all means, find a bright pair to match your personality!

3)  The dainty stilettos

Perfect for that sophisticated tea party or formal dinner you’ve got lined up. They’re elegant and guaranteed to make you feel a little balletic – if I don’t say so myself. This graceful pair will go hand in hand with a floral frock or a classic pant, shirt and blazer look in pastel hues.

4)  The designed polka dott-y pair with a dash of blue

These are my go-to pair when I feel like my outfit needs a little livening up, or alternately if I’m wearing something that is either completely black or completely white – in which case my foot wear is always a clear stand out! This pair initially strikes you as common – but on closer inspection – BEHOLD… these are no ordinary heels. They’re uniquely patterned and possess just the right colour combination to make your entire outfit eye-catching.

5) The walk-about sandals

Every female, I repeat, every female should own a pair of these. They come in many different styles, colours, designs and these particular shoes are a no brainer when it comes to chucking on some sandals for a super long and hot day of shopping. Wear these with leggings, shorts, skirts and day dresses – not only are they uber comfortable but they also go with just about any casual outfit AND they let your feet breathe!

6) The wear-and-pair-with-everything vans

Please tell me your shoe collection consists of at least one pair of Vans? If not – WOMAN, get on it! This beloved pair is the apple of my eye… literally. A trendy patterned/coloured pair of vans goes hand in hand with every casual outfit in your wardrobe and they have this knack of making everything you wear look cool. If my vans were people, they’d be those easygoing cool dudes, that are just effortlessly stylish.

7)  The flamboyantly artsy stilettos

These artistic darlings are apt for those days you’re feeling a little upscale. These are definitely my go-to shoes for a top notch exhibition (fashion or art) or an opera/theatre. Not only will these shoes out-flair, but I find they go perfectly with a jungle-esque vibe of sorts. Pair these with any shades of green or a classic LBD and you’re good to go! I’m also rather in love with the colour blocking on these.

8) The zebra platform heels

As many have told me, these towering pair of heels (other than resembling a zebra) feel as though you are constantly walking around on a mini platform – not even kidding. At 7 inches tall, they’re THAT high! With that being said, the very next thought on your mind would obviously be ‘but what about the constant pain and discomfort whilst sporting this pair around’ – well, guess what ladies? This pair is as comfy as can be! Of course if you’re not a regular heels girl, they may take time to adjust to. When I’m in these, I feel on top of the world… literally!

9) The classic white and beige ankle bucklers

Black, nude and white – these basic heels should hold a special place in every girl’s shoe collection. Never neglect your basics! That’s exactly what these are. A chic, no-fuss basic white and nude pair that can be worn with most outfits – no matter where you’re going or what you’re doing, these will mould into your outfit perfectly.

10) The basic strappy wedges in black

These adorable, snug-as-a-bug wedges are ideal for the easy breezy beachy look, or even an evening out with friends/a casual date with your other half. They make any outfit look dressy but never too dressy – whether it be a floor length boho maxi or your fave skinny jeans paired with a chic blouse – these cuties add the final touch!

In the words of the legendary Christian Louboutin

A shoe is not only a design, but it’s a part of your body language, the way you walk. The way you’re going to move is quite dictated by your shoes.

And I couldn’t agree more!
