Bachchans
Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan

Call it coincidence but 2015 could well be the biggest ever for the Bachchan family. Amongst them, over half a dozen films are already in the making, which brings them to the forefront of Bollywood this year.

With Aishwarya Rai Bachchan making a comeback, Amitabh Bachchan working on a record number of films and Abhishek Bachchan seeing a high in his career, 2015 is set to be a BIG B(achchan) year.

No wonder, R Balki said:

Since 1970, it has been Amitabh Bachchan’s century! Yes, it is wonderful this year that all of them have releases. I hope and wish it will be yet another film year to remember for the Bachchans.

Amitabh Bachchan has Shamitabh, Piku and Wazir this year and Abhishek has All Is Well, Housefull 3 and Hera Pheri 3 lined up. Meanwhile, Aishwarya has Jazba and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on her plate. In fact, Jaya Bachchan is also rumoured to be a part of Hera Pheri 3.

Wazir directer Bejoy Nambiar said:

It’s been an absolute honor working with Bachchan sir. Being a fan-boy to getting a chance to direct him was quite an intimidating task. But then he just made me comfortable from day one. His commitment to his craft is what makes him a true legend. Just like everyone else I am also excited to see him in different roles in Shamitabh and Piku.

Umesh Shukla, who is making All Is Well with Abhishek added:

Yes, it’s a wonderful year for the Bachchans. Hope they continue this every year and entertain us in future as well. Wishing them a great luck!

For obvious reasons, the trade is excited too. Says distributor and film business analyst Girish Johar:

2015 is a Bachchan Year for sure. As a huge Big B fan, I feel that if there is no release of his in any year then there is a huge void unfulfilled. In 2015, other than his, there are Abhishek and Aishwarya’s films as well which is just like a cherry on the top of a huge cake. I am sure it is up for a grab and movie lovers are in for a huge treat!

Well, we are really looking forward to the Bachchan year. What about you?
