This has happened. As if all the controversy surrounding the #AIBRoast wasn’t already enough, we’re now hearing that an FIR has been filed against Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. The crime? Right after the roast, Ranveer got off stage and kissed Deepika on the cheek. Yup, on the cheek – this is what has become an issue.
According to reports, the AIB gang – and everyone associated with the roast, including Ranveer, Deepika and Karan Johar – have been accused under sections 292 (selling pornography) and 294 (obscenity in a public place) of the Indian Penal Code. It’s absolutely ridiculous, but what’s even sadder is that none of this is really even all that surprising. After all, we’ve got people threatening to get couples “married off” if they so much as say “I love you” on Valentine’s Day.
Someone remind the people of this country that there are things MUCH more important worth getting offended about.
