All is not well with Aishwarya Rai‘s comeback film, Jazbaa. Director Sanjay Gupta has filed a case against producer Vinod Bachchan on grounds of mental harassment. Here’s what went down: apparently, Vinod had approached Sanjay and given him token money to work on a film called Delhi Ka Thug with Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Boman Irani. However, the movie didn’t end up going on floors as finances couldn’t be arranged. Back then, each time Sanjay asked to be compensated for his time, he was given false assurances.

Having said that, Vinod never asked for the token sum back as, apparently, he felt Sanjay did invest time in developing the project and didn’t even take up any other film at the time. However, now that Sanjay has the much awaited Jazbaa on his plate, Vinod thinks his money is being used in this film – and that’s just not going to fly with him!

Sources inform:

Vinod either wants his entire money back or wants credit as producer for Aishwarya’s comeback film.

Interesting move, don’t you think?

So this is why Sanjay has filed a case of mental harassment against the producer. Here’s what Gupta’s lawyer, Madhu Chaudhary, had to say:

Sanjay has filed a case against Vinod Bachchan for extortion, defamation and cheating. The token amount given by him [Vinod] in April 2014 was Rs 49.5 lakh. A case has been registered with the Versova police.
