It’s that time of the year again when couples and singles infest your social media with their opinions about love and the big day of love. That’s right! It’s Valentine’s season. While some of you can’t believe how lucky you are to be with your Mr. Right at this glorious time (*dramatic roll of eyes*), some of you need to be told that you are, in fact, with Mr. Right Now.
Yup, here’re 10 reasons why he is NOT your Valentine.
You know the ones I’m talking about, right? He thinks he is your entire life and is always around. ALWAYS. If he could come up with an app to track you down, he would and call it ‘No Space.’
Uh, the counter of the ‘no space’ category is the ‘way too much space.’ He is so distant, literally and metaphorically, that it’s almost like you can’t see him!
It doesn’t have to be some big romantic date in a 5 star hotel but if he hasn’t brought up any sort of plans for this Saturday, then he is probably not looking at you the same way you’re looking at him.
Doesn’t getting a ‘favourite’ over a ‘retweet’ for your tweet bring back memories of that guy from high school who insisted on keeping your relationship a secret? Make sure you’re not with him anymore!
It’s all fine if you’re still testing waters. But if you’ve been together for a while and he refuses to DTR (Define The Relationship), he is not your valentine.
If even his closest friends don’t know anything about you, you know you’re not with your valentine.
You shouldn’t have to be in a relationship if you can’t be yourself. You should be able to speak your mind to your Valentine and shouldn’t have to censor your personality to be with him.
Sex is important. Sex is great. Sex is not the only thing you should be in a relationship for.
I’m not saying he should be at your beck and call, but if you’re just an option for him while he is your priority, don’t expect him to change overnight and become the Valentine of your dreams.
Sometimes it’s all good… on paper. But something just doesn’t feel right. Trust your instincts!
All in all, have a great Valentine’s Day, y’all – and trust me, you’d rather be happy single than be a part of a miserable couple.
