Barely six months after his very successful Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya, Varun Dhawan is coming back on the big screen in a diametrically opposite role with a dark setting that director Sriram Raghavan has created for Badlapur. His face-off with Nawazuddin Siddiqui is much awaited in this dramatic thriller produced by Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla.

Talking about the film, Varun said:

For Badlapur, I am emotionally attached to being Raghu (name of my character). Now, that in itself is remarkable because this is the shortest number of days that I have shot for a film. However, the kind of time that I spent in preparing for it as well as the general talks that I had with Sriram were very interesting.

Varun also speaks about his directer very fondly. He said:

He made me braver. I was the youngest person on the sets and was hanging out with people who are much older and mature. I used to wonder what this generation would be thinking about cinema that is made today, considering the fact that they come with such experience. Be it Nawaz, Kumud Mishra, Vinay Pathak, Divya Dutta – I learnt from them all. As I went through with the shoot, I realized that my personality was changing.

We’re really looking forward to Varun’s brand new avatar! What about you?
