Mallika Sherawat

It is a known fact that in her upcoming film, Dirty Politics, Mallika Sherawat is required to mouth quite a few cuss words. Though due to the current Censor guidelines, one wonders if that would have been possible for any new film – howeverm the good news for the KC Bokadia production is that the movie has already been passed by the Board.

While one waits to see if there would be a re-look at the content of Dirty Politics before it hits the screens on 6th March, Mallika is extremely excited about the film. She’s happy with her part in it and the fact that with the spoken language on screen, she has managed to make her character more real. She elaborates:

The director convinced me that this is a lingo and language that politicians use, and I had no qualms following what was given to me on paper.

She was convinced because she gets to the essay a role inspired by the Bhanwari Devi scandal from Rajasthan. Mallika also talks about the double standards we have when it comes to women cursing.

I am not playing a sophisticated woman but an angootha chaap girl. Moreover, isn’t this a real everyday language? So why are there double standards? When a hero uses such language then we say – ‘Waah, kya dialogue maara hai!’. For woman, it raises a lot of eyebrows? Why? Aren’t we living in the 21st century?

Forget audience, let’s hear how this argument holds if the Censor board comes calling again!
