A little champi goes a long way. We’ve all heard it – from our grannys to our mommys. Now, all you crazy Holi players gear up to get your hair champi-ready, because THAT is the only thing standing between you and those messy colours making you look like an at-home-colour dye fiasco. I mean we all love Katy Perry‘s lavender hair, but yikes, imagine that mixed with blue hair like Nicole Richie (or is her hair back to pink now? I can never tell). Anyway, I cannot think of a more horrific sight.

So, all you lovely ladies that wanna have some fun this holi, but shudder at the thought of having to Instagram pictures with oily hair, I’ve got a solution for you. Check out these steps that will make you look like holi party royalty – Mughal style.

Step 1

Pick out any old tee that won’t break your heart if the colour doesn’t come out. Preferably a sturdy colour with long sleeves, like this one below:

Step 1

Step 2

Secure all your hair into a bun. The lower it is the better (you’ll see why).

Step 2
Step 2

Step 3

Flip the tee over, so that the bottom touches your forehead. Yes you will look super silly, but for the greater good just bear with me.

Step 3
Step 3

Step 4

I am aware I look like a bunny rabbit, but once you get past my ridiculous expression, notice that I have crossed the sleeves over into a knot on top. Try to make it a tight one. If the oil is too greasy the top will just slip right off.

Step 5

Tuck away those sleeves right about where the opening of the tee is near your ears. Be careful not to just shove it all in there, but to try and flatten and make sure no bumps can be seen on the exterior.

Step 6

Gurrrl… you are now ready to get down and dirty with those colours!

All I can say is, dear Holi, come at me bro. So let us know what you think. And if you happen to try it out, we’d love to see pictures.
