Does The Anushka Sharma Starrer NH10 Have Any Competition This Week?

Joginder Tuteja
NH10

While there were as many as three releases last week, NH10 enjoys a solo arrival this Friday. Touted as a gritty action thriller which boasts of realistic treatment, it is primarily a word of mouth film. Just like Badlapur and Dum Laga Ke Haisha, one expects a decent start for the film (in 30%-40% range) and further growth if the end product turns out to be exciting enough.

There are quite a few factors that do promise good entertainment in the offering. Since Anushka Sharma has not just acted but also produced the film, one is led to believe that there must be good conviction in play. On the other hand Navdeep Singh has Manorama-Six Feet Under as his debut directorial affair, which has managed cult status for itself over the years. Going by his sensibilities, there are good reasons to believe that he must have attempted a new storyline and narrative with NH10 as well.

The film has an advantage of arriving with hardly any competition as last week’s releases won’t be in the running this week. The only other film which is continuing to make some waves is Dum Laga Ke Haisha, but that too is running in selected theatres at limited print count. All of this means that with good content on display, NH10 has the stage set for it to consolidate its position with every passing day and enjoy three straight good weeks, with Detective Byomkesh Bakshy on the 3rd of April.
