I am a Koffee With Karan junkie and I have been one since 2004, when the show first aired and Karan Johar proved to the world that he is one of the best chat show hosts ever! He was fun, fabulous and all sorts of other things that only reinstated my belief that KJo and I are BFFs in a parallel universe (he just doesn’t know it yet). Of course what took the show to another level was its amazing line up of guests and Karan’s chemistry with all of them ensured that the celebs went on to reveal things they wouldn’t have in any other interview.
So I decided to go down memory lane and watch some episodes from the very first season of Koffee because that’s how much I loved it (and because I clearly had no life on a Saturday night!). On watching the Rani Mukerji – Kareena Kapoor episode, I couldn’t help but notice a few things that Bebo said back in the day that just don’t stand true anymore.
Now now, it has been over a decade since the episode and a lot has changed for Bebo since then (especially the hair, thankfully!), so let’s just have some fun with this #NostalgiaTrip.
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is my only most successful film and I make no bones about saying that… I have had 12 flops after that!
Can you imagine? Kareena has ruled the industry ever since and even if she doesn’t have releases in a year, her stardom can’t be questioned because even the younger generation of actresses (like Alia Bhatt!) look up to her. I don’t know if that can be said about her contemporaries from back in the day. We heart you, Bebo.
I can’t really be close friends with an actress.
Uh, well clearly this was much before she met Amrita Arora. The two have often gone on record to say how close they both are to each other and their night out pictures just make us want to party with them.
Saying no to all the good films and saying yes to all the bad ones, is my genre.
Gone are those days!
I have reached that stage where I just wanted the film (Yuva) to run – I am being very honest!
I am not saying all Bebo’s films are superhits, I am just saying that all of them do pretty darn well!
Yes he is someone who plays a very special part in my life. He brings a smile to my face and a twinkle in my eye. So he is that special someone, yes.
I am 23!
I know I did wrong to a friend… I did wrong to you, by not taking your call. All those things were wrong because I lost a friendship for more than a year and a half with you.
The Bebo-KJo friendship is stuff legends are made of and their latest BFF cover made us fall in love with them even more. But when Karan wanted Kareena to star in Kal Ho Na Ho, not only did she say not to it because of the money, but also went on to ignore him for several weeks. Thankfully, all is well now.
Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir. Saif
This is what she said when she was asked to rank the Khans in order of preference. Well, obviously Saif Ali Khan has won in the lager scheme of things because both of them are happily married and super adorable together!
