A while ago, Deepika Padukone‘s #VogueEmpower video titled ‘My Choice’ went viral and left many in awe. Undoubtedly, the video has been beautifully executed by director Homi Adajania and features some of the most powerful and remarkable women in India (including our super awesome boss lady, MissMalini). This endeavour by VOGUE has been the talk of the town ever since it released.

And here’s what Deepika’s contemporaries, Kangana Ranaut and Sonakshi Sinha have to say about her video on women empowerment.

Kangana:

Women empowerment does not mean you create complex among men. Then it will take 20 more years to empower men. It is all about evolving as a soul, as a human being. It does not mean that you become a sexist… But I am glad that people are contributing in their own way. Everyone has different expectations but it should be appreciated for the efforts they are putting in.

Sonakshi:

Women empowerment is not always about the kind of clothes you wear, not about who you want to have sex with or stuff like that. It’s about employment, strength… It’s a very good initiative. It’s coming from a good space, but honestly I believe empowerment should be given to the women who actually need it, who are kind of far away from where we are right now. We have been bred and brought up with luxury.

Kudos to our Bollywood divas for being so vocal about these causes!
