Recently our collective hearts skipped a beat when the rumours of a desi Game Of Thrones started doing the rounds. Buzz was that Sakshi Tanwar would play the role of Khaleesi (*gulp*), Anita Hassanandani would be the desi Cersei Lannister (*tears*) and Parth Samthaan would essay the character of Jon Snow (*breaks bangles*). We hadn’t stopped crying ever since… until right now. In an interview to DNA, Sakshi has spoken about her role in Sony TV’s upcoming show, Rani Mahal and about any GOT references that may be in it
Sakshi said:
I have been offered the show (Rani Mahal) but it’s in very very initial stages. Its an interesting concept but nothing is confirmed as yet. And no, it’s not (an Indian GOT). I don’t think anyone would even think of attempting Game Of Thrones in India yet.
In the interview, Sakshi also cleared the air about her alleged wedding:
Why would I react to a rumour? Someone decided to get me married without my knowledge and forgot to invite me!
Well, I don’t know about you, but we want to personally hug Sakshi for clarifying the GOT rumour.
Winter isn’t coming on Sony TV, after all! Yay!
