Greek Yoghurt

It’s no secret that Greek yogurt is healthy and delicious. Over the years, we’ve found multiple uses for the popular super food. Here’s 10 reasons why Greek yogurt is a healthy dietary staple as well as a creative addition to your beauty regime:

1. Protein Boost

Greek yogurt contains three times the amount of protein than regular unstrained yogurt. That’s three times the protein available and beneficial to your skin. The protein you get from eating dairy helps skin become firmer, so it’s more resistant to wrinkles and lines. Who needs botox?!

2. Probiotics

Greek Yogurt is packed with probiotics. Consuming a serving of Greek yogurt daily will help keep your digestive system in check.

3. Skin Care

Need to exfoliate? The lactic acid in yogurt helps keep your skin moisturized and smooth.

4. Multivitamin

Vegetarian? Who needs a multivitamin when you can get your B12 from Greek yogurt! Super important for our energy levels.

5. Fights Pimples

Tired of acne, redness and blotchy skin? A serving of Greek yogurt contains a little more than 1mg of zinc, which aids in alleviating your skin of acne and pimples.

6. Bye-Bye Cramps

Feeling cramped? Whether you have got those oh-so-painful Charlie horses or muscle twitches, Greek yogurt’s potassium will help keep your electrolytes balanced. Potassium is key for your body’s hydration status.

7. Calcium Rich

Pregnant? Enjoy calcium rich yogurt with your breakfast (Parfait please!) or as a snack (topped with fruit and nuts, yummmmm…)

8. Immunity Boost

Feeling low? Your immune system will beef up with the addition of Greek yogurt due to Riboflavin, a B vitamin that helps fight on your behalf.

9. Face Pack

Facial time. All you need is yogurt + a few drops of lemon or orange juice for a DIY mask.

10. Soothes Sunburn

Too much sun? Add a few drops of soothing chamomile essential oil to about a handful of organic yogurt. Rub the concoction over affected areas and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it off.

Need we say any more? Next time you reach for yoghurt, make it Greek!
