Bollywood’s shy boy Ranbir Kapoor likes his work do the talking and we appreciate that about him – being the powerhouse of talent that he is, his work speaks volumes about him! The actor prefers to keep his private life private, so we don’t really hear too much about him on social media – he did join Twitter for a short while to promote a brand once, but that’s about it.
So, when a reporter asked him very frankly to explain his absence from social media now that even his girlfriend, Katrina Kaif has joined it for a brand, here’s what he said:
I joined Twitter that day because the brand I was promoting wanted me to promote ‘through’ their handle, it wasn’t mine. It was a misconception. I don’t have anything against it. i just feel… and this is my honest opinion, in India, I don’t think we have freedom of speech yet. Whatever you say there are 10 different interpretations that come out. If you don’t have freedom of speech then how can you use a medium like Twitter. Like my father is on Twitter right now, whatever he says – I have heard all those things in my childhood while growing up – so he can speak his mind. But why to create that extra speculation in your life. You say something, then there’ll be 10 different interpretations for it, then you have to give clarifications for all that. You’re just putting an extra headache on you.
