Tanu and Manu are back, and this time they are promising a lot more fun. Now that’s something Krishika Lulla was looking forward to as well once Aanand L. Rai dropped more than just a hint of coming up with a sequel to Tanu Weds Manu. Though it was Raanjhanaa with which the producer and the director collaborated first, it was a given that Tanu Weds Manu Returns would be happening for sure. In the four years gone by, while Kangana Ranaut has soared by leaps and bound, Madhavan too has picked the film carefully as the one with which he breaks the sabbatical. Overall, a happy scenario for producer Krishika.
Since it is apparent that Kangana has gone to the next level with this one, did Krishika find her even more assured due to success of Queen behind her?
As an actor everyone grows. Kangana is taking a step by step approach ahead. From Tanu Weds Manu to Queen and now TWMR, she has grown as an actress. She has received a National Award too for being such a brilliant actress.
Happy with the way her lead actress has managed to live up to the mighty expectations all over again, Krishika says, “I like the way Kangana is dedicated to work. For TWMR, she learnt the Haryanvi language so well; people are really going to enjoy as they would have something different to see. The way she has held both the characters with quirky fun is superb, and that too in her own original style and way. She has maintained a very good balance. This is what I like in hardworking actresses, as they put their all.”
Meanwhile, how does Madhavan’s camaraderie with Kangana work this time around, considering the fact that he has to deal with two Kangana?
He is quite silent in the film. As a matter of fact while shooting, he didn’t want to know much about what comes next to him. He wanted to slowly gather proceedings around him, so that he could emote well and get the right feeling. For him, behind the scenes there is one Kangna only. Yes, he had to work on the fact that he now had the second Kangna in his life too. He has portrayed that emotion very well.
