There was a time when Kangana Ranaut had a shaky time in the industry. The likes of Rascals, Knockout, Miley Na Miley Hum, Tezz and Game weren’t helpful, though Tanu Weds Manu changed that. A year and a half ago, Krrish 3 brought her back into the game and then the major milestone was achieved in the form of Queen.
Almost overnight, the young woman was hailed as someone who was always ‘superstar material’ and soon, even a flop Revolver Rani brought Kangana some accolades. While no one spoke about Ungli as it disappeared without a trace, the world is indeed talking about Krishika Lulla‘s Tanu Weds Manu Returns where she returns with her co-star Madhavan in a director Aanand L. Rai run show.
When asked if it was the success of Queen behind her that boosted her confidence and resulted in such a spirited act for Tanu Weds Manu Returns, this is what the feisty actress has to say:
“No no, I have always been like this right from my earlier days. In fact even during the promotion of Queen, I was as confident as I sound today. In fact I am so super-confident that Aanand couldn’t decode what it was (laughs). I have always been this firebrand to be around, with or without Queen. Acknowledgment from other people won’t change the way I think about me.”
“See, people’s perspectives will change every minute, but then I can’t shift my own perspective about myself based on their notions. I have to have some sort of balance which comes naturally to me. I knew my work before Queen and that’s why it happened. I knew it was achievable. If someone invented the telephone then that was because he knew it could be made. The same holds good for the computer or the internet and so many other things. It is either within you or not. Nothing is by accident.”
Way to go, lady!
