Abhishek Kapoor‘s Fitoor has been in the news for various casting switches since the beginning of time. Earlier, it was Sushant Singh Rajput who was replaced by Aditya Roy Kapur and now, it’s Rekha (who even shot a few scenes for the movie), who has decided to leave this project. The evergreen diva (if I had a rupee for every time someone said this about Rekha, I’d be a billionaire) cited creative differences with the director as a reason to leave the movie. It’s rumoured that she was not too happy with the way the film was panning out and even though Siddharth Roy Kapoor tried to convince her to stay, the actress was having none of it.
The makers approached Tabu to play this complicated character based on Miss Havisham and thankfully, the actress agreed to be a last minute replacement. I’m kind of sad to see Rekha go (she finally had a good role and no, Super Nani does not count as a good role) but I’m also happy that an actress as prolific as Tabu will be playing an important role in this awaited movie.
Seeing how awesome she was in Haider, we can’t wait to see Tabu handle another classic in her own brilliant way.
