Three small-to-mid budget films release this weekend – Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho, Uvaa and Bezubaan Ishq. Between the three, Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho is a concept based film, Uvaa deals with a topical issue and Bezubaan Ishq is a dramatic love triangle. Each of these would be getting a controlled release for itself and the collections will rely on the word-of-mouth as there is no star value to ensure footfalls from the first show itself.
Between the three films, Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho has been promoted reasonably well. Due to the controversial nature of the film (it deals with a man being accused of raping a buffalo and then being asked to marry it!), it has been in the news for a while. The film is also being banned from a few centers due to this very reason. It would look at critical acclaim to gain more visibility over the weekend.
Uvaa is a youth drama dealing with rape and has Jimmy Sheirgill in a strong supporting role. However, it hasn’t been promoted optimally. On the other hand, Bezubaan Ishq features Mugdha Godse and Sneha Ullal as the known faces tnd its well tuned songs have been quite well-promoted. There hasn’t been any other kind of promotion,though.
Outside these three films, ABCD 2 is continuing to find the maximum number of screens in the second week as well, and hence enjoy the best of collections.
