For those of you who sat through the seven minute, topsy turvy and rather ‘horrific’ (yet awesome) music video that Rihanna recently released – you’ll be well aware that she was accompanied by two henchmen as she painted the town red (literally). You may also recall the scene where one of the girls with Rihanna knocks the blonde bombshell Rachel Roberts (who plays the victim), on the head with a bottle. What you won’t believe is how she found this girl!
Sanam is a 25-year-old artist who has previously had no experience when it comes to music videos and acting. Oh and if you hadn’t guessed from the name yet, she’s fully desi! Rihanna found Sanam on Instagram and literally stalked her for a few months. She unfollowed and then followed her again. The urban star then approached Sanam via Instagram. Vice spoke to Sanam and she mentions how Rihanna first wrote,
“Hi, I have this idea I want to run past you. I think you’re so f*#%ing rare. Let me know if you’re interested.”
And that was how it all began. She was then approached by the production company and brought to L.A. to finalise things. Sanam went on to describe Rihanna as super down to earth, real and someone who was extremely warm and understanding when Sanam fell sick on set.
Rihanna actually first spotted Sanam on her explore page where she was decked up in her nath and bindi, cool right?! Rihanna digs desi vibes – CLEARLY.
