After watching the Shaandaar trailer, I think we can all agree that Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt may just be Bollywood’s newest on-screen couple to watch out for! They look super cute in the trailer, but it looks like their on-screen chemistry is built on some solid off-screen bonding as well. They were lots of fun at the recent trailer launch, and it’s clear that they’ve got a good rapport with each other and enjoyed working together. Here are five quotes from the trailer launch that prove they’ve really got good chemistry:
When Shahid called Alia ‘Faintom’…
Shahid: I haven’t seen someone faint as much as Alia does! She’ll be standing straight, and suddenly – bam. She’s down.
When they brought up their Piscean connection…
Alia: We’re both Pisceans. I’ve never been fond of a Piscean in general. This is the first Piscean I’m actually fond of. Fellow fish, we call each other.
When Alia ‘lectured’ Shahid…
Alia: I got to learn a lot!
Shahid: What, you’ve learned from me? She used to lecture me through the film.
Alia: When did I lecture you?!
Shahid: Alia, the only people I used to ask if my shot is okay is you and Vikas.
Alia: Shahid used to come and say, ‘Babe, okay na? Okay, na’ so I was like, if you’re asking, I’ll say one bad thing, one good thing.
Shahid: Arey, new-age filmmaker, new-age heroine – so I thought what if I’m looking old-age? So I used to check with them, is this cool?
Alia: No, I assure you, Shahid, you’re very new.
When Shahid was asked on similarities between Alia and Kareena…
Shahid: I don’t think I see any similarities between the two, because I think Alia is a very original actor. They’re both very phenomenal actors. I think Alia has her own journey, she’s making some very brave decisions; I’ve probably not seen any other actor in the last 15-20 years make such brave decisions. Both of them are fantastic in their own way.
When Alia butt in to ‘defend’ Shahid…
Journalist: What was the most shaandaar gift you received at your wedding?
Alia: One second, sir, I’d like to say something. Shahid ki shaandaar shaadi is over. Now, the only shaadi we’ll talk about is the one happening in my film, Shaandaar!
