Pocket Stylist shows you how to wear your off-shoulder tops

There’s something sexy about an outfit that leaves your shoulders exposed. #ColdShoulder is a word you’re already familiar with thanks to BandraRoad, but how do you wear this sexy trend everywhere you go? Well, where there’s a will, there’s a way and I’m about to show you how I did it. You’ll see that I’m quite in love with these shoulder-baring tops and when I love something this much, I need to wear it everywhere I go. So here’s how I wore mine to work, to a brunch and even while hanging around, doing nothing with my friends.

The Casual Way

On a lazy Sunday, my distressed denim shorts are my best friends. So of course I paired my bright yellow Annie & Nimmu off-shoulder number with my trusty shorts and sneakers. Pick an off-shoulder top in a soft fabric and a bright colour if you want to wear it casually. This way you won’t have to think too much before pairing it with your jeans or even shorts for a quick coffee run.

To Work

Yes, the off-shoulder tends to tip on the sexier side but there’s no reason you can’t wear it to work. Just make sure you pair it right. I picked a pair of wide-leg trousers and since I work in a rather cool office, I tied my top in a knot above my belly button. You can just as easily tuck the top in for a more covered up, office-appropriate look.

To Brunch

If you know me, you’ll know that brunch is my favourite part of the weekend. If I had my way, I’d go to one every week. So naturally I had to find a way to wear the off-shoulder in a more brunch-friendly way. Since it’s in the day, go crazy with your colours. I paired my top with a bright skirt and sparkly shoes from Koovs. Keep in mind, prints and sparkles don’t ALWAYS go together, but when done in moderation like this, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be a part of the same outfit.

P.S. There’s no reason why you can’t substitute the skirt for a dark pencil number and wear this on a night out on the town.

I think I’ve successfully overdosed on off-shoulders. Now, on to the next trend!
