Saif Ali Khan isn’t known to give lots of interviews. So when he does, it’s always a pleasure! In a recent interview, he spoke about his movies, Phantom, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor.
It’s good to stir up some controversy. And some people will be upset or won’t like discussing this kind of thing but, everyone sort of knows the facts. The idea isn’t to do some kind of bashing Pakistan or anti any community. It’s anti people that tried to burn up Bombay, that’s all.
They’ll ban the film in Pakistan for sure. They ban films that are less incendiary and this is quite a direct accusation in a way. It’s fair enough.
Films don’t fail, it’s the budgets that fail. You can’t make a niche idea into a mega-budget movie.
I’ve worked for money in the past, I’d like to feel that I don’t need to do that anymore.
I think Katrina is a big star. When I work with her, I feel there’s good chemistry and good screen presence.
Kareena has a great mind for cinema. She knows how she wants to see herself.
It’s very difficult to work together when you’re in a relationship because some people try and exploit that. And people go on talking about it so much that it’s boring to see us together. It’s actually sensible to not talk about your relationship.
