3 ways to style your flared denims.
3 ways to style your flared denims.

There’s something so incredibly liberating and raw about the ’70s. I must confess I find this decade and its return in fashion for 2015 quite irresistible in that very sexy wild sort of way – especially when it comes to denim. That’s right, flared jeans are back! I bought a pair of flared denims from Mango 6 years ago but never got rid of them, even when they went out of style. I knew one day they would make a comeback, and they definitely have.

We’ve been on a strict diet of skinny jeans, straight-leg and boyfriend jeans for several years now. And as much as we love them, we’re super excited to welcome this figure-flattering fit back into our wardrobes! While flared jeans aren’t as easy to wear, they almost always require heels to fit properly. This added height is also what makes this denim trend super slimming and undoubtedly very stylish. If you’re not sure what shoes to wear with them (and you don’t particularly like pumps or high heels), I’d opt for a pair of platform shoes. I think flared denims and platform were made for each other.

The only problem is that styling these flared wonders can be a bit perplexing. But fear not, we’ve got 3 different ways to wear these oldies but goodies…

Go Bohemian with your flared denims.

I love adding a little bit of boho to everything I wear. I’ve paired these jeans with a printed, backless top and covered up with a light kimono that I found on Hill Road. I absolutely still love shopping on the street because you never know what you’re going to find – and that’s the best part.

You can wear these jeans to work too as they’re super versatile. I’ve teamed them up with a crisp white shirt from Forever 21, my favourite sleeveless blazer from Zara and of course, my black tote from Urban Outfitters that can literally fit my entire life in it!

Turn your flares into a day time casual look.

Take your flared denims on a day out – catch a movie or have lunch with friends. They will never let you down. I’ve dressed them up with a cut-off tank from American Eagle, my favourite vintage Levis denim jacket and completed the look with a white pair of Adidas Originals.

So, I’ve only shown you 3 ways to style these I’ve-got-legs-for-days jeans, but here are a few more inspirations…

You can try them in other colours and prints too. A pair of crisp white flared jeans would work perfectly with a denim or chambray shirt. So, I hope I’ve convinced you guys to go out and invest in a good pair of flares. I promise, you’ll be thanking me later.
