Remember the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which had several celebrities throwing a bucket of ice-cold water over their head to raise awareness about ALC? Well, there’s another “challenge” doing the rounds, and this one is for a good cause, too. The #dizzygoals challenge – an open invitation to run around a ball until you’re dizzy and attempt to score a goal – is a way to raise awareness about The Global Goals campaign, launching this month. Akshay Kumar is the first Indian personality to take on this challenge.
Watch his video below, taken on the sets of Housefull 3 – you can even see Jacqueline Fernandez cheering him on in the background:
What are The Global Goals?
The Global Goals are a series of “ambitious targets to end extreme poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change for everyone by 2030.” They are launching at the United Nations General Assembly by 193 world leaders on the 26th of September. The idea behind the campaign is to make the Global Goals the most “famous goals on the planet” by sharing them with 7 billion people in one week – 26th September to 2nd October. The more people that know about them, the more people will ensure global leaders drive change.
