Let’s be honest, while fashion weeks all around the world are undoubtedly the most glamorous, high-profile, and coveted events out there, it’s not uncommon to walk out of a highly anticipated, high profile show entirely dumbfounded (ahem, Kanye West’s show, ahem). I, for one, have left a few shows wondering, “Where in the world would I wear any of that?” But thank God that in true NYFW fashion, for everyone “umm wtf?!” show there were several “I wish I had a million dollars so I could buy this entire collection” shows this year. Although it was no easy task to narrow it down, here are 10 of our favorite collections from the NYFW runway this year!

1. Carolina Herrera

The epitome of elegance, Carolina Herrera kept true to her personal style this year. We loved the feminine colors, the elegant silhouettes, and the refined styles that she presented at NYFW. As classy as always!

2. Michael Kors

Michael Kors killed it in the “stylish without trying too hard” department. Whether day or night, we love his look of pairing together a loose shirt, a skinny belt with the tail hanging down, and airy bottoms. Comfortable, yet so chic!

3. Delpozo

I have to admit I’ve never heard of Delpozo before NYFW 2015, but my new life goal is to own a walk-in closet full of their designs. The intricate detailing upon architectural silhouettes makes for some of the most stunning evening wear that I have ever seen.

4. J. Crew

Stepping down from my dream world and on to something I can actually afford, I’m eagerly waiting for J.Crew’s new collection to hit stores ASAP! Loving everything stripes and plaid, not to mention those palazzos! <3

5. 3.1 Phillip Lim

Phillip Lim’s collection comprised of intricate tailoring interlaced with subtle detailing. And oh, that flower bandeau!

6. Marchesa

Reminiscent of a time past, a time long, long ago where life was all horse drawn carriages and extravagant parties, Marchesa brought to NYFW a lust-worthy collection fit for a queen! Here’s hoping I get invited to a ball or two this year! 😉

7. Ashley Graham

This is all the proof in the world that we need to prove that sexy does not mean skinny! Plus size model Ashley Graham showcased her gorgeous lingerie line at NYFW in partnership with Canadian-retail house Addition Elle, under the hashtag #IAmSizeSexy. Love it & love her!

8. Christian Siriano

This year saw some of Christian Siriano’s best work ever. Love, love, love the Moroccan inspired drapes! My favorites were these silky numbers – sheer and striped eyelet capes over gorgeous, flowy skirts.

9. Isa Arfen

Definitely wouldn’t mind adding some of these Isa Arfen crisp whites, lacy blacks, and printed separates to our wardrobes. They give such a structured edge to any outfit!

10. Tory Burch

Tory Burch’s NYFW marigold collection inspired by our very own gainda phool has us oozing with #desipride. Such a gorgeous color choice for her collection!

You have to take a look at her inspiration:

Well, that’s a wrap, folks! Now that the fashion gurus have spoken, bringing this year’s inspired creations to life, let the shopping begin! Until next year, NYC!
