In an interview to Hindustan Times, Konkona Sen Sharma spoke about her separation with Ranvir Shorey, the reason why she has been featuring in movies based on real life crimes (like her upcoming film Talvar, based on the Aarushi Talwar murder case) and how she usually ends up doing movies directed by women. When she was asked about her apparent preference for women directors over male directors, here’s what she said –
I have met many men who are sensitive, and vice versa. We shouldn’t generalize. The problem is that there are not enough women directors. There is plenty to be done about that. There is a lot of sexism at play, with people taking decisions at a corporate level.
Well said Konkona!
