The Film Federation Of India (the committee which is responsible for sending our movies to the Academy Awards) have finally got it right. After last year’s ‘ignoring The Lunchbox and sending The Good Road as India’s official entry to the Oscars’ fiasco, this year they’ve selected the Marathi-English movie – Court, directed by debutant Chaitanya Tamhane. The movie made me thank my stars for not pursuing law as a career and I really feel that this year we have a solid chance of being nominated in the Best Film in a Foreign Language category.
