In front of over 60,000 people, the wonderful @arjunkapoor and I invited @glblctzn to come to #India. We believe in true partnerships to end poverty. Give me some love to share with all of the people at the Global Poverty Project and please tell them to come to India next! #globalgoals #globalpovertyproject #globalcitizenfestival #62milliongirls #endpoverty
We love a good celebrity sighting. But we don’t mean the usual Emmys, Grammys, Oscars and other award functions. We particularly love when all the VIPs and stars come out in honour of a good and noble cause. And yesterday, one global campaign brought together stars out from the East and West. Arjun Kapoor, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kajol, Freida Pinto, Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Salma Hayek, Ed Sheeran, Jay-Z, Usher, Kerry Washington, Katie Holmes and Ariana Grande were some of the stars who attended the festival.
What was it exactly that brought together all these mega names in the business?
Chime for Change: a campaign founded by Gucci to raise funds and awareness for girl and women empowerment. Pretty powerful, right? No wonder these famous personalities teamed up and celebrated its partnership with Global Citizen for gender equality. Scroll down to check out all the stars that gathered at Central Park to make a difference.
Salma raised awareness about children’s rights as well as addressed the crowd about ending poverty.
Shared the stage with Beyoncé and sang some sweet tunes.
The Great Gatsby star hung out with the stars as he showed his support.
There was No Problem for this singer who collaborated with Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
All smiles for Little Miss Sunshine!
Making it a mother-daughter day, Katie attended the Global Citizen Festival with daughter Suri.
Arjun showed some love and a whole lot of support at Central Park. While looking über dapper, of course!
This fierce mama put on an amazing performance and got hugged by the First Lady!
He teamed up with Beyoncé for an acoustic rendition of Drunk in Love.
Empowering girls everywhere, Freida looked lovely at the festival.
The boys were in town and served up some real swag.
Other stars who also came out for this cause were Chris Martin, Ivanka Trump, Hugh Jackman and Laverne Cox.
