According to reports, Jim Carrey‘s ex-girlfriend Cathriona White recently committed suicide. The actor, who is 53, started dating White in 2012. She was 28 years old and was working as a makeup artist in LA.
They had broken up in 2013 but were again spotted together holding hands in 2015. They saw each other for a while until last Thursday when they went their separate ways again.
According to White’s friends, they were worried about her ever since she broke up with Carrey. They found her dead in her apartment on Monday, September 28. The cops also found a suicide note and pills by her side which had Carrey’s name mentioned in it.
The contents of the letter haven’t been revealed yet. But Carrey came out and spoke about her suicide and told The News,
I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona. She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.
In fact, White even posted her last tweet the same day she broke up with her boyfriend:
