The other day, I spent my entire weekend listening to a friend moan about how she doesn’t wish to disappoint her boyfriend. I didn’t understand what she meant. After she calmed down, I asked what she meant. She told me how her boyfriend wants her to call him every 2 hours, tell him every time she leaves home and send him Snapchats of her whereabouts. I was shocked – was she really that friend of mine who once mocked everyone who was in a clingy and taxing relationship? She was the victim now and perhaps, who knows, I might be one soon. However, things didn’t get better for them; he went abroad to study and then it reached a point where he asked her to show him her mobile phone bill so he can see who she’s been talking to. Luckily, my faith in my friend was restored when she decided to dump that prick.
They say a relationship without trust is like having a phone with no service. I absolutely believe it to be true. Here are 5 signs that prove your relationship lacks the much-needed trust!
Not everything that you do makes you feel comfortable around them. You don’t trust them to accept you the way you are.
There is always something missing. They might say you look good in that dress or suit, but it doesn’t give you any assurance.
Whether they’re on the phone with someone or talking to the opposite sex at a party, you’re always trying to analyze their moves. You feel like they might be flirting with the other person or something like that.
There is always that sense of insecurity that will not go until you finally get your hands on their phone.
Every small thing they do, lead your thoughts to wander – ‘what if they are seeing someone else?’; ‘what if they aren’t happy with me?; or ‘what if they leave?’
This reminds me something that happened between Abhishek and Ananya recently in Episode 9 of SonyLIV’s #LoveBytes where the couple starts doubting each other’s loyalty. Check it out!
