These Jewellery Tips Will Help You Get Through Wedding Season Like A Pro

Anushka Mulchandani

Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no ignoring wedding season. It doesn’t matter if you’re married or still single, the last few months of the year don’t go by without at least one wedding invite. While you’re out on a mad hunt for what you’re going to wear, your jewellery tends to make or break your look. We decided to head over to Mahesh Notandass and take a peek at their collection. They have something for every kind of wedding, whether you’re the bride or not, in stunning diamonds and precious gold. We couldn’t resist playing dress up. While mixing and matching their jewels with our clothes, we stumbled upon a few tricks and tips that will get you through wedding season looking like a pro.

On your wrist

Your traditional bangles, kadas and bracelets will generally come in pairs. No, this doesn’t mean you wear just the pair on your wrists. Mix it up and stack them. An assortment of bangles is just the thing your outfit needs to really stand out.

On your neck

This can be tricky. A boat neck doesn’t need a necklace, but a round neck does. A square neck needs a round necklace while your round neck could use something like this…

Keep your outfit simple and in a solid colour and let your jewels stand out. Remember, unless you’re the bride, don’t go overboard with your accessories. A statement necklace like this could be paired with simple stud earrings and a single bracelet.

On your ears…or your head

This is my favourite trick. Sometimes your statement earrings make for the perfect maang tikkas. All they’re missing is the rope for you to pin on your head. Don’t fret, take the clasp of your earring and push a bobby pin through it. Place it on your head and hold it with a few more bobby pins, this time securing it to your head.
