It’s going to be a perfect summer with all the elements like floral, polkas and easy, fuss-free shapes coming together. For her latest showcase at #AIFWSS16, Payal Pratap drew out all the familiar and favourable inspirations from the ’50s. Always the one to keep it simple and yet deliver a collection that’s prim and proper in all its feminine glory; here’s what we thought of her spring summer 2016 collection.

Yup, it was a beautiful show. The colour palette started with predominately monochromatic looks with pastel, floral elements and moved to stitch embroidered pieces. For one, it definitely was a whimsical collection with a sharp sense of design. Cross-stitched embroidering and 3D effects were brought out by digital and graphic embroidery to create floral motives in serenity. Classic silhouettes came into play with romance held at the helm. Maxi dress, A-line and skater summer dresses, shifts, sarees worn with peasant blouses and layered skirts were brought out, some with subtle frills and delicately structured details. As a stylist, I know this collection is simply perfect for every woman who enjoys the finer, romantic elements that come with a beautiful life.
