It’s one of the most important fashion events in the country, with so much style inspiration around, it’s only obvious that BandraRoad was on the ground with Team MissMalini covering the street style at #AIFWSS16. From shades of Japanese street influences to sports luxe themes to some old school classics like bomber jackets and denim-on-denim, here are our picks from the stand-out street-strong looks!

We decided to split this blog into two parts, The street style on the runway and the street style off the runway.

Street Style On The Runway

Bringing the ease into street wear was Aneeth Arora’s Pero. Though her theme was set around a girly pajama party; drop crotch trousers, crops tops, a dungaree dress and other street classics were played up with a relaxed sense of chicness.

From comfort wear to sports influences, Anand Bhushan‘s spring summer ’16 had a strong tennis theme and the street looks that stood out for us were the jumpsuit and the shirt dress, which were styled with visors and canvas sneakers.

And then we have Anamika Khanna. A slightly unexpected entry in the street style category, but with her pret debut, the designer also showcased a few street-strong pieces: especially the track pant inspired pajama trousers with a crop top, baggy pants and a kurta tunic styled with sweat bands and visors (again)!

Taking  the street diaries from sports luxe to the Harajuku Station was Am.it. Strong sports uniform themes were played with graphic shapes and bright colour with textures. There was something very synonymous with the Japanese street style cult of the Harajuku ad Manga.

Super-sized clothes took over the runways at the Love Birds show. A minimalist take of comfortable street wear, BandraRoad loves that Love Birds play with volumes and layering, which forms a strong street style story.

And finally, we have Ikai by Ragini Ahuja who brought together all our favourite street influences beautifully in one show. Denim-on-denim, to bomber jackets and pop art, all came together in one fun, innovative way!
