Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali gave an interview to Bollywood Hungama recently. The two spoke at length about Deepika Padukone and her growth as an actor. When prodded about their personal relationship and the fact that they look like really good friends, Ranbir admitted that he doesn’t think he and Deepika are best friends in the current scenario.
He said that they have immense love, respect and regard for each other, but they’re not on backslapping terms, they’re not like phone buddies, they’re not into each other’s lives. But when they were working in this film, there was immense respect for each other. Imtiaz also explained that both Deepika and Ranbir love the core of acting and they like to be in that phase where they’re acting.
Imtiaz also said that he doesn’t even know what their (Ranbir and Deepika’s) personal relationship is, but beyond a certain time it doesn’t even matter because, while they’re reading the lines or doing the scenes, there is great thrill and excitement.
They do make a great on-screen couple, though! What do you think?
