Who ever said that your Diwali outfit can’t keep up with the trends? It’s all about experimenting, being desi and being fabulous, of course. Esha Gupta, Sophie Choudhary, Jacqueline Fernandez, Malaika Arora Khan, Dia Miraz, Neha Dhupia and many more celebrities were spotted last night in their desi best. Most of them went in for the usual saree, salwar kameez and so on. However, only three women really stood out for us the most. Here are some of the pataka outfits we wish to own and wear this Diwali:

Jacqueline’s mint salwar style

Not a colour you’d see often but we’re really loving Jacqueline’s shimmery mint salwar kameez. She went easy on the accessories because those wavy tresses were statement enough, don’t you think?

Neha’s red hot embroidered maxi

A powerful colour for a powerful woman. Neha slightly derailed the traditional way of Diwali dressing with this maxi. But who made these rules, right? It’s 2015, so if Neha wants to wear an embroidered red maxi, she sure can. We also love how she kept it simple and soft with her hair and makeup.

Esha’s ethnic shirt dress

Now this I got to own! It’s not often you’d see a shirt dress at a Diwali party. Although Esha wearing this outfit will definitely set off all the crackers! Hair flipped over to one side, red lips and a subtle show of skin, Ms Gupta’s really got us in love with the entire look.
