Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate
Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate

Over a month ago, I received the Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate serum in the mail and boy, was it powerful! It consists mostly of adenosine (which helps the product penetrate your skin cells), silicone (which keeps some of the moisture on the surface, allowing the rest to penetrate), and around 10% vitamin C. It doesn’t have any strong fragrance or too many other products to irritate your skin.

But I have to say, it’s only main ingredient is Vitamin C… not much else. That being said, Vitamin C is an important ingredient in your beauty and skincare routine. Here’s why: it protects you from aging by blocking free radicals, reduces sun spots and acne scars, and boosts collagen production. In fact, it works well with your daily sunscreen.

Warning: I mix a little bit of the serum with my aloe vera moisturizer, that has soothing qualities of aloe vera,  a couple of times a week and apply it on my face. So, I’m moisturizing, soothing, and adding a good dose of Vitamin C to my face. I find that a large amount of Vitamin C can burn or irritate the skin. Although the label says to apply it twice a day, I avoid that as I’m also using a cream with AHA that chemically exfoliates my skin. I don’t need a double dose of strong ingredients. So, make sure you balance a vitamin C serum or cream with the rest of your skincare routine and use it only as often as it suits your skin. Here are a couple of Vitamin C serums that work well for your skin.
