If you’re a foodie, you’re always on the lookout for new recipes to try, new restaurants to visit and new places to get take-out from. There are tons of options out there, but thankfully, we’ve got access to a lot of tools right at our fingertips to make life easier. Here are a few of our favourites – if you pick up one of our HTC phones in the office, you’re very likely to find one of these apps open!

Zomato

Zomato

Who doesn’t use Zomato? We love it for being able to quickly find new options, scroll through menus and figure out when our restaurant of choice is available for delivery. But best of all, they’ve opened up online ordering for a bunch of places, which means you can place your order right from the app!

Foodpanda

If you’re like me and don’t like talking to people on the phone unless absolutely necessary, Foodpanda is a great app to have to get your food to you without picking up the phone.

TinyOwl

TinyOwl

TinyOwl is another food ordering app, and this is a great one to try if you want to order from a restaurant that normally does not accept your delivery. This is because TinyOwl uses its own delivery staff, so even if the restaurant won’t deliver, TinyOwl might.

Yummly

Yummly

This is one of the best apps if you like to tinker around in the kitchen. Just throw a bunch of requirements at the app – healthy, Italian, savory – and Yummly will pull up a bunch of recipes that you can use. You can even recommendations, save your favourite recipes and add ingredients to your grocery list.

Vivino Wine Scanner

Vivino Wine Scanner

Does wine confuse you? If you’re eating out or shopping for a bottle, take a picture of the wine label, and the app gives you prices, ratings and food pairing suggestions. This will help you not only pick the right wine from a list, but help you discover new favourites.

DineOut

If you want to reserve a table at a restaurant, give DineOut a try – they also offer discounts on the bill. It’s also a good way to find restaurants nearby, get directions to your place of choice and read reviews before you book your table.

Foursquare

Foursquare

The new Foursquare is a great way to find new places to eat and see where your friends are going. If you download the companion app, Swarm, you can check in to whatever restaurants you visit too and share your recommendations with friends.
