Recently, Pepsi brought together thousands of fans from India and across the world to shoot for Black Knight Decoded, a stunning short film starring Freida Pinto and David Oyelowo. Black Knight Decoded is based on the Black Knight Satellite, an object that has captured the public’s interest for several years now. For those who aren’t aware, the Black Knight Satellite is believed by many to be a real extraterrestrial object that has been orbiting the Earth and transmitting radio signals, with Nikola Tesla being the first person to intercept a signal in 1899. In the film, Oyelowo and Pinto are on a mission to decode radio signals transmitted from the Black Knight Satellite, and realise that it’s actually a voice – with a message. Take a look at the intriguing and powerful video below:

The film is directed by Jabbar Raisani, produced by Pepsi in collaboration with Levity Entertainment Group (LEG) and Urthecast. It also features an original track – titled Miracles – by Usher. As you can see in the video, Oyelowo and Pinto’s characters have support from many communities across the world, who join hands to communicate messages of peace, hope and unity. Fans from India are featured in that portion – a 5000 sqm diya was created on the grounds of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, and was filmed by Urthecast’s video camera aboard the International Space Station. Make sure you catch a glimpse of that at 6:03 in the video!
