“Boom! That’s how it’s done!” That’s the vibe Ranveer Singh created when he walked for Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna for the closing show of GQ India‘s Fashion Nights yesterday. The two-day style event (read about day 1 here) showcased a spectrum of menswear by some of the most prominent and emerging names in the Indian fashion industry. Rajesh Pratap Singh, Antar Agni by Ujjwal Dubey, Dhruv Kapoor and Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna presented a serious range of versatile looks for men. All shows at the event were meticulously styled to perfection by Gautam Kalra and here’s the dope on the collections showcased yesterday!

Rajesh Pratap Singh

The shy genius opened the evening with his trademark suture stitches and attention to tailored details. Rajesh Pratap Singh’s show was a rush of brilliance in design. Copper metallics, rocker chained accessories, checks and checkers were in play in the show. This is a label that believes in simplicity and the art of strong but subtle statements.

Our verdict: Last night’s collection is a must-have for the man who appreciates the finer details in design.

Van Heusen’s ‘Timeless Classics’

The brand stuck to menswear classics but styled with contemporary elements. The show was focused on presenting fine ready to wear menswear. Akshay Oberoi was the show-stopper and he worked a chic checked suit with a sharp sense of masculine flair.

The New Wave show featuring Antar Agni by Ujjawal Dubey and Dhruv Kapoor

The New Wave show aimed at presenting the next big names in Indian menswear and that’s exactly what Antar Agni and Dhruv Kapoor offered. Dhruv Kapoor started the show with oversized, exaggerated jackets with a hardcore ‘street-meets-space-age’ twist. Keeping the menswear evolution story going, Antar Agni by Ujjawal Dubey showed a new side to the label. He fused his trademark use of drape and light linens with a very evident sporty element. Ayushmann Khurrana walked the runway for Ujjawal and looked like a million bucks!

Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna

They are the work-hard-and-party-harder boys of Indian fashion and their clothes are an extension of their personalities. Rohit & Rahul closed Fashion Nights with a high octane show and hard hitting looks, jetting across the runway one brilliant garment after another. Taking their edgy designs and adding his own brand of eccentricity was Ranveer Singh. The man simply elevated the evening to the next level, as he always does!
