If you’ve seen the Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 trailer, you may remember that there’s a reference to Sooraj Barjatya in there (Mandana Karimi‘s dad in the film is “Surya Karjatya”). Now, Sooraj Barjatya’s brand of cinema is, uh, quite different than something that would belong in the Kya Kool Hain Hum series, so you can imagine why it would irk the filmmaker who is known for his sanskari, family-friendly films. A report in Mid-Day suggests that Sooraj Barjatya is actually planning on taking legal action against the production house!
Barjatya, it seems, found out about the reference when he was told by one of his assistant directors, and was very unhappy – something that has been, apparently, communicated to Balaji Motion Pictures. In response, the CEO has only said that it was done “for the sake of humour” and it wasn’t intended to hurt anyone’s sentiments. Barjatya’s not having any of it, though, and is planning on taking legal action if references of him and his films and not removed from Kya Kool Hain Hum 3.
What are your thoughts? Is Barjatya justified in being upset?
