Priyanka Chopra has been receiving a lot of accolades for her performances in Quantico, Dil Dhadakne Do, Bajirao Mastani and her look in Jai Gangaajal. At the trailer launch of her latest release, Priyanka was asked about her opinion on the release of the juvenile rapist in the Nirbhaya case. PC, like most of the country was extremely angry at the High Court and Supreme Court’s decision to reject the state’s plea to keep the man in jail.

It is something I don’t agree with. It’s such a heinous crime it’s unforgivable. I am a law abiding citizen so I’ll go with whatever the law decides but it was too heinous a crime.

The director of this movie, Prakash Jha also added –

In general, I am trying to say that reduce the rate of juvenile to 16 years. You cannot generalize. Whether you reduce it to 16 years, do you mean to say 15-year old cannot commit that crime? That is not the solution. It’s a bigger debate. It is education, major education which is needed.
