With weddings and parties at every corner, our locks have been through hours of flat ironing and curling… which means tons of heat damage! Which is why we prefer air-drying our tresses on our off days. However, this doesn’t mean that we simply walk out the door with sopping wet hair, because that can results in frizz, snarls and limp locks. Here’s the right way to get the most out of air-drying!

Step One: Get The Water Out

When you step out of the shower, immediately squeeze your hair to wring out the excess water. Next, soak up the dampness with a towel. Regular towels can cause wear and tear, so opt for a gentle, microfibre towel instead.

Step Two: Detangle

To prevent knots and tangles, spray on a detangler. Then, comb your locks with a wide-tooth comb and part your hair on your preferred side.

Step Three: Smoothen

The key to shiny locks lies in hair serums. Use a single pump of serum and spread it on to your palms. Lightly run your fingers through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair.

Step Four: Texturize

Unless you have hair that dries stick-straight, the best alternative is to keep some texture in it. Salt sprays and texturizing sprays go on weightlessly to create beachy waves.

Step Five: Finish It Off

To keep the frizz at bay, consider a hair oil. Apply a very small amount through the ends of your tresses to keep them soft and manageable. Plus, the added shine looks great!
