8 Cool Brands That You Need to Shop From In 2016

Mahak Jain
Shop here in 2016!

Year after year I keep making these over the top New Year’s resolutions that are impossible to stick to. “I’m giving up chocolate for this entire year” (okay, for this entire week?!); “I’m going to wake up and workout at 7am everyday” (hahaha, jokes); “I am not going to blow my entire paycheck on shoes” (oops). A month tops, and it’s back to stuffing my face with chocolate, sleeping in past all ten alarms, and shopping until every inch of vacant space in my apartment has been converted to shoe storage. Sound familiar?

So, as December rolls around and all of us scramble to find a resolution that will actually stick past January, here’s an idea – since we’re all going to shop the year away anyway, why not vow to at least shop somewhere new? Although Forever21, H&M, and Zara are no doubt some of my favorite go-to brands, it would be nice to show up to a party in a dress that half the girls there didn’t also own. While it may be slim pickings at your favorite mall, with online shopping at our fingertips there’s no reason to settle. So, are you ready to vow “out with the old and in with the new?

Checkout our list of 8 brands that you need to shop at in 2016 and let us help you get a kick-start on the year! It’s going to be a happy new year indeed! 😉

If you’re a diehard Zara loyalist, we suggest you visit the younger, trendier, and more adventurous version of Zara – Bershka. Both brands belong to the same parent company, but while Zara was established back in 1975, Bershka debuted in 1998 to cater to a younger market that demanded a blend of street fashion with influences from music and art.

Ask any American fashionista the one brand they find synonymous with “preppy” and the majority will undoubtedly say J.Crew. The clothes at J.Crew afford you an undeniably polished look – whether you’re going for casual chic, professional trendy, or evening elegant. PS – don’t miss their gorgeous jewelry collection!!

I may sound a bit out of whack when I describe the clothing at Scotch & Soda as having muted colors and bold prints, but visit their website and you’ll see what I mean. The brand has an amazing collection of pieces that integrate classic French style with tough street wear elements. And for someone who isn’t a fan of much color in her wardrobe, this place is my home away from home.

While I’m sure most of you have already heard of Ted Baker, I had to include it on this list purely because few others rival the brand when it comes to achieving that “girly girl” look. It’s a brand where floral prints, embellished collars, and lace detailing effortlessly enhance feminine silhouettes and impeccable tailoring.
