Bhumi Pednekar is one shining star of Bollywood. Many people know, that she worked with YRF’s casting director but very few know about her transition.

While speaking to HT, Bhumi opened up about her life and her dream of becoming an actress. She was asked if quitting her job was a risk she took, she said:

Not really. Yes, I did quit my job after I got the film. But I took it up because, ever since I was young, all I have ever wanted to do was act. I was 12 when I decided that I wanted to see myself on the big screen. I started working really early. I just love films, and I didn’t realise that with each passing year I was wasting my time. But I guess God had a plan. The first time I read the script of DLKH, I was blown away. It was a genuine script; you don’t really get scripts like these today. When it came to the weight gaining part, I didn’t really think about it because I just wanted to be part of a film, especially this one.

I believe my stint in casting was my acting workshop; we literally rehearsed with the actors for long periods of time. I’ve also worked with directors who have different visions. So, that has also given me perspective. I’ve been here for six years, and I have done the oddest jobs.

Bhumi will next be seen with Ayushmann Khurrana in Manmarziyaan.
