Zayn Malik‘s fans are still recovering from the fact that he has left One Direction. Malik has now made another confession which is making his fans super unhappy.
In an on-air interview with Beats 1 radio, Zayn said that he never really wanted to be a part of the band in the first place.
I think I kind of always wanted to go, from like, the first year, really. I never really wanted to be there in the band. I just gave it a go because it was there at the time. Then when I realized the direction we were going in — mind the pun — with the music, I instantly realized it wasn’t for me because I realized I couldn’t put any input in. I couldn’t give my opinion on this or that because it didn’t fit the grain of what we were as a band or what we represented. That’s when it became frustrating for me. I didn’t want to be the person who said I was right because who am I to say that? I think the boys knew, in terms of the music, that wasn’t my cup of tea.
Well, as much as we fans are upset, we’re proud that Zayn chose to do what made him happy!
